| “Come and See A Man” | Joanne Bultemeier |
The Samaritan Women (John 4:1-41) was unable to hide anything from Jesus, He knew her well. She left her water jar at the well, went into the city, and said to all who would listen “Come and see a man show told me everything I have ever done!” (4:29). Many Samaritans believed in Jesus because of what the woman said, and they asked Jesus to stay. For two days, he taught them; and many more believed. After that, the people of Samaria said that they believed in Jesus, not because of the woman’s witness, but because they had heard for themselves. They said, “We know that this is truly the Savior of the world” (4:42).
Like the woman at the well, members of an Emmaus team invite people to “come and see a man” who knows and loves us. We work toward a weekend Walk to which pilgrims will come. By trusting God and serving as team members, we create an experience in shich they can see Jesus and believe, not because of their sponsor’s invitation, but because they have seen and heard for themselves.
In John 4:35, Jesus tells his disciples that the fields are ripe for harvest and that the reapers are gathering fruit for eternal life. All that we do and say on a Walk to Emmaus matters in eternity. We invite people to “come and see a man.” Jesus gathers them in and gives them life.

| CROSS POINT COMMUNITY WEBSITE | Board |
crosspointemmaus.org
“Why did the board make this website and want everyone to look at it to get the newsletter” you ask. A major reason is money. Postage alone runs around $135.00 a month and that is using bulk mailing. That’s $1,500.00 a year we could use for something else like scholarships. When you add the cost of paper and printing the amount can become a financial burden to the community. Help us to be financially responsible by using the website.
AND, we want to mail the newsletter to all those that do not deal with computers. BUT, we need to know who you are. Please contact Barbara Otto, 611 S. Townsend, Ada, OK 74820 or at babsotto@adacomp.net or at 580.436-3061 with your names and address. Community members if you know of someone that needs the newsletter by mail and they don’t realize that they need to do this – please let Barbara know who they are.
Thank you, The Board of Directors. |

| Thanks for being a part of our lives | Jack Roper |
I guess I had better start this proper:

Crosspoint Walk #1
I had the honor of sponsoring my wife, Stephani, on the womens walk #56. We married 5 years ago and it has been a blessing to see how her relationship with Christ has grown throughout our time together. We have endured child birth with difficulties twice, career changes for each of us, home purchases and faith-shaking illnesses of mine, but through all those trials her personal faith in Christ has never wavered, when mine looked like a bowl of Jell-O.
I want to say thank you for the impact the Cross Point Community has made on our lives. To see how she has stepped out on her faith going from an inside relationship with Christ to where she now boldly ministers to her old friends she has had for years and to people she just happens to come in contact with out of the blue as well as me is awe striking. This I truly understand is a result of the love you showed her during her weekend, showing us that it is good to have faith and even better to be bold with it.
God Bless, De Colores and Thanks for being a part of our lives, Jack. |
