| Qualities of a Team Member | Joanne Bultemeier |
By participating on a team for the Walk to Emmaus, we learn and practice these key qualities: hospitality, love, discernment and discipline.
Hospitality They welcome and accept all pilgrims and help them to create a community in which they are brothers and sisters in Christ.
Agape Love As team members, we are called to sacrifice; and like Jesus, we spend time with God, open to his will, so that we can love with genuine acts of agape.
Discernment we allow the Holy Spirit to guide our feet to wherever God wants us to be.
Discipline True disciples are continually challenged to learn more about Jesus and to be open to his will for their lives. Participating in a team gives us opportunities to deepen our knowledge, to practice faithfulness, and to develop a closer relationship with our Lord.
The success of a weekend Walk is revealed in the minds, hearts, and lives of Pilgrims who return home with more loving hearts and a deeper understanding of service. If team members journey along the road to Emmaus, confident of God’s call, they will line the pilgrims’ path with examples of unconditional love, cooperation, attention to detail, obedience, and responsibility. As pilgrims see team members’ relating to one another and working together as the body of Christ, they will begin to develop the same qualities and will use them on the fourth day, according to the love of Christ and the healing of the Holy Spirit.
Team members are responsible for more than the stations on the team to which they have been called. Participating on a team is a solemn and glorious task, one that offers opportunities to grow in faith, to trust God with every aspect of our lives, and to enrich God’s gifts of leadership.

| WE NEED TABLE AGAPE | |
Reunion groups remember how much fun it was to set and look at all the goodies at you table. Let’s give that feeling to others. Table agape is such a small way to say in a big way “I love you Child of God.”
Remember 65 pieces for each walk – that equals 130 pieces total. |

We need to know the correct email address for the above so we can notify you when the newsletter is on the website |

| Answers to some questions | The Emmaus Board |
To answer some of the question that have been raised since we have developed a website.
1) YES we will mail newsletters to those that want it. We just need to know who you are. So please let a board member know and they will make sure you get a mailed copy of the newsletter.
2) We need your address along with that notification to confirm we have your correct address. Believe it or not there are many of you that have moved and failed to include the Emmaus newsletter of your new address. SO if you have moved since you were a pilgrim and have not sent a change of address please let someone on the board know your new address – in writing. We do need all addresses to mail the ballot in October for voting on the new board members.
3) We would like to have you correct email address so we may notify you when the newsletter is on the website or email it to you. |
Thanks for you help – The Emmaus Board |

| Barbara Otto | |
This past month I resigned from the board of directors. Over the past 6 months the loss of sight in my right eye and the two surgeries to regain my vision have taken a toll on me. I will help with the newsletter until after the walks. Thank you to everyone for all you support and prayers through this ordeal. I think the greatest blessing we receive by being part of the Emmaus Community is fellowship of Christian family. This has been especially true for me. |
Thank you again
