It is always an exciting time to anticipate the walks as they are grow near. Yes, it is proper to anticipate the walks, just not to anticipate if you are on a Walk to Emmaus! Join with all the other saints who are praying for the teams, the pilgrims, the camp, and all other helpers and workers. It is a wonderful experience to know as a worker or a pilgrim that many, many people are praying for you. Try to come to all the weekend events to support the pilgrims and team, and to see old friends. If you are considering sponsoring someone for these Spring walks, the time is now.
FIVE FINGER PRAYER
1. Your thumb is nearest you so begin your prayers by praying for those closest to you. They are the easiest to remember. To pray for our loved ones is, as C. S. Lewis once said, a "sweet duty."

2. The next finger is the pointing finger. Pray for those who teach, instruct and heal. This includes teachers, doctors, and ministers. They need support and wisdom in pointing others in the right direction. Keep them in your prayers.

3. The next finger is the tallest finger. It reminds us of our leaders. Pray for the leaders of our country and churches, leaders in business and industry, and administrators. These people shape our nation and guide public opinion. They need God's guidance and grace.

4. The fourth finger is our ring finger. Surprising to many is the fact that this is our weakest finger, as any piano teacher will testify. It should remind us to pray for those who are weak, in trouble or in pain. They need your prayers day and night. You cannot pray too much for them.

5. And lastly comes our little finger - The smallest finger of all which is where we should place ourselves in relation to God and others. As the Bible says, "The least shall be the greatest among you," Your pinkie should remind you to pray for yourself. By the time you have prayed for the other four groups, your own needs will be put into proper perspective and you will be able to pray for yourself more effectively.

A WIN/WIN/WIN SNACK OPPORTUNITY
Wow, can you believe it is almost time for another walk! It still amazes me that God can take so many people and allow each of us to be blessed with serving as part of the Walk to Emmaus experience. I’m still overwhelmed by the people who made it possible for me to see and feel Gods love and grace on my walk. I’m Cherri Bradley and I’m your broad representative for snack agape. Although the list of needs is great I don’t see it as an obstacle, but rather an opportunity for God to allow more of the Body of Christ to be involved in helping on the walk. Providing snacks allows even those who don’t have a lot of time, money, or even skill to be involved—isn’t it just like God to give everyone a chance to serve? The list of needs will be at the next gathering so you can sign up. You can call me at 580-223-7235 or you can just bring or send something to the walk. If you didn’t sign up we can always use more baked goods and liters of pop (we use 50-60 per walk). You can also give money and someone will use it to pick up what is still needed at the walk. See--you can bake, shop, or give--you can bring, send, or have picked up. So there is room for everyone to serve!

PRAYER VIGILS
Please try to sign up for prayer time on the prayer vigils. Remember how amazed you were that all those people were praying for you on your walk? Let’s fill them early! They will be available at the February gathering and send off. You can also sign up on our website!
TABLE AGAPE
Table agape grows on you! Every meal there is more and more and more…but only if you bring it! Emmaus offers this as another way to show God’s love to our pilgrims and team. Be sure to bring enough for the pilgrims and the inside team.

SUPPORT EMMAUS! COME TO GATHERINGS!
OUR NEXT GATHERING IS FEBRUARY 10, 2007, AT 7:00 P.M.
AT FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, ARDMORE, OK!
(Everyone is invited to attend our Cross Point Emmaus Board meetings which are held
at 5:00 p.m. immediately before our gatherings and in the same churches.)
After the christening of his baby brother in church, Jason sobbed all the way home in the back seat of the car. His father asked him three times what was wrong.

Finally, the boy replied, "That preacher said he wanted us brought up in a Christian home, and I wanted to stay with you guys."
