| From our Community Spiritual Director | Dan Patman |
I certainly received a blessing as I attended the Closings for the last Men's and Women's Walks. What an incredible experience that so many were able to have! I talked with one very timid soul and said, "I guess it was a pretty good Walk for you." And he said, "It was better than that!"
It seems that the Walk to Emmaus has served as a life-changing experience for many over the years. Several pilgrims later entered the ministry after going on the Walk to Emmaus. Emmaus has consistently been a vehicle that takes people another step or two or three on down the road with the Lord. Several have said to me over the years that the Walk to Emmaus rates up there with the top three or four or five experiences of their lives, including marriage, the birth of children, and Christian conversion. When you have an opportunity as life-changing and life-affecting and life-affirming as that, wouldn't you want everyone you know and love to go on the Walk to Emmaus?
The next Men's Emmaus Walk #67 is on September 27-30; the next Women's Emmaus Walk #68 is on October 4-7. If you have been touched by the Lord on the Walk to Emmaus, I encourage you to sponsor an individual or a couple on the next set of Walks. The pilgrims and sponsors form can be downloaded at www.crosspointemmaus.org.
Or, if you feel that you would like to work on the next set of Walks, you can download a volunteer application form. I know that the Emmaus Community is asking that this particular form be returned by April 15. If you haven't gotten yours in yet, do it ASAP.
Our love for others ought to be the agape love of Jesus Christ. It's a love that reaches out and includes others. It's a love that wants the best for others. It's a love that is "de colores"--of many colors. It's a love that will invite others to go on the Walk.
De Colores,
Dan Patman

| ACT NOW & VOLUNTEER | |
Time is running out! Be sure to fill out a volunteer application for the next set of walks. The deadline is April 15. If you don't have an application or have trouble printing one, call me and we'll do it over the phone. My cell phone number is listed on the Cross Point Emmaus website. Serving on a Walk is great fun. Don't miss this opportunity to serve.

| Chrysalis, A Wonderful Way for Youth to Encounter Christ | Rev. Dawn Richards |
The Heartland Chrysalis community would like to invite you to spread the word about Chrysalis Flights. This is a wonderful way for youth (rising sophomores through freshman in college) to encounter Christ. Like Emmaus, they hear a series of 15 talks (5 by adult lay folk, 5 by youth and 5 by clergy). Like Emmaus, they experience AWESOME worship, great fellowship, and of course food…and more food! Like Emmaus they are encouraged to join a Reunion group after participating on their Flights.
One of the major differences is that youth are key leaders on the team. And that is what I think is one of the best things about Chrysalis. Where else are youth given the opportunity to give talks on issues like study, action and God’s grace to the “prodigals”? Where else are youth given opportunities to lead small group discussions and actively participate in a team process.
As the minister of youth at my church, I have seen tremendous spiritual growth and leadership development in the youth who have been through Chrysalis and then worked on outside and inside teams. If you know youth who are ready to get closer to Christ, then sponsor them on a Chrysalis Flight!
If you want to know more about Chrysalis, come work in the kitchen, snack room or doing agape. Or, come to a Hoot (similar to monthly Emmaus gatherings) and join the fun! Our next Hoot is April 21st from 2-5PM at UM Church of the Good Shepherd in Yukon. Our next Flights are June 14-17th for the Girls and June 21st-24th for the Boys. Both Flights are at Asbury UMC in OKC.

Rev. Dawn Richards

| THANK YOU!!! | Laura Mitchell |
I would like to thank the Emmaus Community for all the wonderful Table Agape that was donated for Walks 65 and 66. The Pilgrims really enjoyed every item and it was obvious that you worked very hard on what you donated. However, there was not an overabundance. Please start now planning your gifts for the Fall Walks so that we will be able to over-whelm the pilgrims this fall with unconditional love. Thanks to each one for your dedication and gifts in the past.
De Colores,
Laura Mitchell, Board Rep., Table Agape |

| BOARD MEMBERS | |
As the 2007 Cross Point Walk to Emmaus Board we want to express the deep appreciation of the entire community to Garmon Smith, Rev. Duane Baker, Mark Marion, Masoud Khaladj and Patty Laramore for their service on the board for the past three years. They were faithful to attend our meetings and faithful to keep Jesus Christ first in our decision making. Please give them a hug and a big “THANK YOU” for their dedication and hard work. |

| Yesterday-Today-Tomorrow | |
Yesterday-- I met a stranger... Today this stranger is my friend. Had I not taken the time to say hello, or return a smile, or shake a hand, or listen, I would not have known this person.
Yesterday would have turned into today and our chance meeting would be gone.
Yesterday I hugged someone very dear to me.
Today they are gone...and tomorrow will not bring them back…but this is what it is, so take the time TODAY to give a hug, share a smile, and say "I love you."
JUST FOR TODAY, smile at a stranger; visit someone and just listen, because that someone needs to talk to somebody and maybe needs a HUG. You may learn something new, and then you can teach it to someone else.
For Tomorrow.....Call someone, for no other reason than to just say: "Hi"; "Hello", "Heyyyy", or "Howaya-Howaya-Howaya"
Ahhhh- Smell the rain, feel the breeze, listen to the wind; use all your senses to their fullest; cherish all your TODAYS.
Today you were thought about and remember this:
"When you're down to nothing, God is up to something." |
